Day 10: Goodbye America!

morning packed up everything and brought a few memories, and even one American was on the training ground where the World Champion team prepared Swarco Raiders U-13 all week about his huge presence. This time we were no longer to train on the field, but to say goodbye to yesterday by our opponents, but especially to us about our new-Texan friends. American families have received the Raiders team with very large arms and allows the newly crowned world champions so many unique experiences that you would probably do without this World Cup can never. But now it was for us und auch für die Gastfamilien an der Zeit diesen Trip nach Disneyland zu Ende gehen zu lassen, denn es war nicht nur für uns ein einzigartiges Erlebnis. Diese Busfahrt war die wahrscheinlich Leiseste der ganzen Woche, da manche entweder traurig waren gehen zu müssen oder noch einmal alle wunderbaren Erlebnisse vor Augen sahen, die sie im Land der unbegrenzten Möglichkeiten erlebt hatten.

Day 9: The Day of Champions

Dann wurde den Spielern klargemacht wie wichtig dieses Spiel ist und dass sie auf jeden Fall das Potenzial haben die Amerikaner in ihrer hauseigenen Disziplin zu schlagen, was bisher noch keine Nationalmannschaft geschafft hat. Eine Stunde fahrt war es uns wert, um drei Stunden auf dem grossen Sandstrand zu verbringen. Da Kinder sehr einfallsreich sind, mussten die Coaches nicht viel unternehmen um unsere Kids zu unterhalten. Entweder gingen sie in das etwas kuehle Nass oder sie spielten tackle-Football auf dem weichen Sand oder sie bauten kleine Sandburgen. Der Strand ist der perfekte Spielplatz fuer jede Art von Unterhaltung. Es wurde viel geplanscht, gespielt und gebaut aber man konnte auch die anstrengenden Vortage in einem gemuetlichen Mittagsschlaf revue passieren lassen oder von Baywatch-Nixe Pamela Anderson traeumen. Somit endete ein langer und erfolgreicher Abend gleichzeitig mit dem Ende des NFL Spiels. Mal sehen, welche neuen Abenteuer unsere jungen Footballer morgen erwarten....

Day 6: First school day (in Texas)
Today our boys were confronted with the real life of a 11-13 year-olds, meant the school. For many of the worst places of our time. But in America it does not seem to be sooo bad. Each of the players went on today with his host brothers and sisters to school. I can report only one incident in which I myself was present. Lunchtime for all children went to the cafeteria to stock up there with the best fast food at school. While according to all the other students were on the Austrians, not on their player jerseys to over-look closely and wanted to know more about it. Of course, the football player went first the friends of their host brothers. Once this had only started to speak with the Austrians, were suddenly at first only a few, then crept more and more girls from all corners and grooves to the Austrian Footballer admire. Unsere Maedels im Bunde standen heute schon sehr frueh auf, um die Malls unsicher zu machen. Das gelang ihnen in ihrem 5 Stunden Marsch, wie auf dem Foto zu sehen ist, sehr gut. Sichtlich erschoepft von der Senkung ihres Kontostandes, erreichten auch sie etwas verspaetet das Trainingsgelaende.
Als alle das Feld erreicht hatten, konnte auch schon kurze Zeit spaeter das Training gestartet werden. Das Team machte heute wieder ersichtliche Fortschritte und die Coaches zeigten sich heute zum ersten Mal mit der Gesamtsituation sehr zufrieden, da die Spieler sich heute viel mehr Muehe gaben und mit Spass zum Grossteil die Dinge anwandten, die die Coaches in den Videoanalysen bemaengelt hatten. Somit konnte heute jeder Spieler zufrieden in sein amerikanisches King Size Bett fallen.
